Organized by Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, the Third China-CEEC Music Academies Rector Forum was held online on 04 November 2021. ZJCM President Wang Rui had real-time discussions on international cooperation in music and art education in post-pandemic period via video link with 16 rectors and experts of music academies from 10 Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) including Bulgaria, Czech, Hungary, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Greece.

Wang Rui extended warm welcome to all the rectors and experts, and pointed out the significance of this online forum during the global fight against COVID-19. In order to enhance the cooperation between academies in the Union, he raised several suggestions: firstly to deepen the cooperation in talent training and education; secondly to strengthen the cooperation of scientific research and creation projects; thirdly to join hands to build international musical festival brands; fourthly to establish Chinese music centres in academies of the Union.

Representatives introduced the history, current situation, course, performance, and research under the pandemic of their academies. They also put forward suggestions on the development of the China-CEEC Music Academies Union.

Since the establishment of the China-CEEC Music Academies Union and the signing of the Declaration of the Establishment of the China-CEEC Music Academies Union in September 2017 in Hangzhou, academies in the Union have held a series of important educational cooperation and culture exchange activities. 2021 China-CEEC Music Academies Rector Forum and the China-CEEC Music Academies Union concerts both went online and offline. ZJCM's Jazz Big Band performed pieces composed by musicians from China and CEEC on the evening of 28 October 2021, and then five online concerts of performances from China-CEEC Music Academies Union were uploaded onto ZJCM's official Bilibili channel one after another from late October to early November, winning wide popularity among internet audience.
