The Secretariat of China-CEEC Music Academies Union is to host and sponsor the Chamber Music Composition Competition to advance the music exchange and cooperation between China and Central & Eastern European Countries (CEEC). The award-winning compositions will be premiered in the 7th International Chamber Music Festival of Zhejiang Conservatory of Music (ZJCM) 2024.
1、Participants
The competition is open to the faculty and students from China-CEEC Music Academies Union members. Each academy (university) can submit a maximum of two compositions and each participant is allowed to submit one composition.
2、Compositions
Each composition should be no less than 8 minutes. It should include at least one traditional musical instrument. Please contact the organizer for the feasibility of the chosen musical instrument at the concert. The participating pieces should be composed after 2023 and never be performed publicly before the competition.
3、Award Setting
There will be one First Prize Winner with bonus of 30,000 RMB (pre-tax, the same below), two Second Prize Winners with bonus of 20,000 RMB each, and three Third Prize Winners with bonus of 10,000 RMB each. There will also be several Award of Merit Winners with a reward of 5,000 RMB each, subject to the participant number and score quality.
4、Review and Shortlist
The Secretariat of China-CEEC Music Academies Union will set up a team of experts--- composed of renowned composers from CEECs and other countries--- to review and shortlist the compositions. The schedule is as follows:

5、Requirements
Participants are required to send the anonymous PDF scores to the designated e-mail address below before August 15, 2024. Composers are also required to provide authentic personal information, a scanned copy of ID card or passport, a clear passport-style photo with resolution over 1M, telephone number, e-mail address, composer biography no more than 150 words, and the composition introduction no more than 150 words (see the attached Participation Form).
6、Premiere
The award-winning compositions will be premiered at the 7th International Chamber Music Festival of ZJCM 2024. Winners should receive their awards in person and attend the relevant rehearsals. The expenses of international travel and local accommodation incurred during the event will be borne by Zhejiang Conservatory of Music.
